If four days of trekking feels too challenging for you and you prefer an overnight stay in a simple yet comfortable hotel, the two-day Inca Trail is the most suitable option.
On the 2-day Inca Trail, you trek the final section of the 4-day Inca Trail. This way, you don’t miss the breathtaking, protected nature of the Inca Trail and still arrive via the Sun Gate!
Hiking from KM104 to Machu Picchu…
This is the shortest Trail in our offerings and takes 2 days. The important thing to note is that during this Trail you won’t sleep in a tent in the mountains, but you will arrive on foot via the Sun Gate in Machu Picchu. It’s a Trail that is manageable for anyone with a normal level of fitness.

"We did the 2-day Inca Trail in September, and it’s our most beautiful memory from the entire Peru trip. First, a scenic train ride, then into the jungle with stunning views at every turn. Bruno is a very pleasant guide, and we had a great time with him. We stayed in a nice hotel with our room overlooking the river. We would do this Trail again in a heartbeat—thank you!"

No, on the 2-day Inca Trail you stay overnight in a hotel in Aguas Calientes. On day 2, you take a bus up from the village to visit Machu Picchu.
By default, a guided tour via Circuit 3B is included with the Trail and the price. Circuit 3B is a comprehensive Tour that covers most of the highlights of Machu Picchu. In addition, the guide will always share more about Machu Picchu than just the sites you visit.
Two bus tickets are included with this Trail. Since you descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes on both day 1 and day 2, you can choose to walk once. Prefer to take the bus instead? That’s possible too! You can purchase a ticket at the bus station for around €10 per person.
You get to see Machu Picchu twice. On day 1, you arrive via the Sun Gate and walk down past the Inca Citadel towards Aguas Calientes. On day 2, you visit Machu Picchu again for the 2-hour guided Tour.
In principle, the 2-day Inca Trail is physically manageable for everyone. However, it is important to acclimatize properly before starting this Trail, as you can still experience effects of the altitude.
