"In mid-June we hiked the Lares Trail. Beautiful views, few other hikers, authentic villages with colorful locals, and plenty of alpacas and llamas. It was also fun to spend three days with a small group of hikers, a cook, a guide, a muleteer, and the little mules. The food was great, even for vegetarians or vegans. The campsites and tents were also very good. The nights were chilly, so if you have a good sleeping bag, it’s worth bringing it along (we did). Our guide Saul shared a lot about nature and taught us beautiful rituals—it was very special. It was also wonderful that we had plenty of time in Machu Picchu, more than enough to walk up to the Sun Gate and enjoy the view. A big thank you to Jorge and Jessie for this amazing experience. It was also great that you always responded so quickly to our questions and emails."
