Nazca: must-know tips for your Peru trip

  • Climate: Temperatures in Nazca hover around 22°C almost all year, making it a great stop to include in your Peru itinerary any time of year.
  • Transport: Nazca is about 2 hours by bus (Cruz del Sur or Oltursa) from Huacachina and roughly 7 hours from Lima.
  • Tours: There’s really only one activity here: flying over the Nazca Lines. We recommend AeroParacas and Movil Air, as they operate the most modern planes and offer the most flights. Be careful when booking in advance—if the weather is bad, flights may be canceled, and you often won’t get a refund.
  • Hotels: We enjoy staying at Casa Hacienda Nasca Oasis, with great food, a comfortable lobby, and a huge garden with a pool. Another top choice is Hotel Alegria Nasca. From both hotels, you can easily book your flights over the Nazca Lines.
  • Restaurants: If you’re staying at one of the recommended hotels, it’s best to dine there. Nazca itself is not particularly remarkable, so staying and eating at your hotel while booking your tour from there ensures the most relaxed experience.

Trails

You want to visit Machu Picchu, but how do you get there? The Incas once had only one option: walking the ancient Trail. Today, you can still follow in their footsteps. And did you know there are even more routes leading to Machu Picchu?
