Trail Equipment Rental
Trekking the Andes demands proper preparation. In Cusco, we provide all the gear you need to make your Trail enjoyable. Our sister-in-law’s outdoor shop offers both rental and sales of trekking equipment.
Our outdoor store is located right in the heart of Cusco, on the corner of the main square, Plaza de Armas!
Kallpa Tours is the name, and there’s also a Camping Shop right across the street. Here, you can quickly grab everything you need for your Trail or Tour! Check below which items are essential for your trek and request their rental when you make your booking. You’ll receive the gear after the briefing in Cusco, where you can also pay the rental fee and deposit (100 soles per rented item). No prepayment is required!
Still unsure what to bring? Take a look at our packing tips for 2-day and multi-day treks!
Walking Sticks
On every Trail, climbing and descending alternate rapidly. You might think sticks are only useful for climbing, but they’re just as helpful on the way down. And if the Trail is easy and you don’t need them for a while, simply fold them and attach them to your backpack — they’ll always come in handy!
Rental price: 15 soles per day (approximately €4)
Daypack
Your sleeping mat and sleeping bag will be carried by the porters. On every Trail you book with us, you carry your own clothing and personal items. We believe this is the fairest way to divide the load!
So don’t bring too much — no more than 7 kg is recommended. The ideal daypack for any Trail is 30–40 liters. Renting this daypack allows you to leave your backpack or suitcase safely at your hotel in Cusco.
Rental price: 20 soles per day (approximately €5)
Sleeping Bag
A warm sleeping bag is essential when spending the night in a tent in the Andes. Temperatures can drop to freezing, and many sleeping bags from home aren’t warm enough for a comfortable night’s sleep.
We also provide a clean liner with your sleeping bag. This sleeping bag is guaranteed to keep you warm and cozy during cold mountain nights!
Rental price: 25 soles per day (approximately €6)
