2-Day Inca Trail & Inca Jungle Trail Packing List
Are you hiking the 2-day Inca Trail or the Inca Jungle Trail? Both trails do not include overnight camping in the Andes, so you’ll need far fewer items than on the longer treks. With the right preparation, you can enjoy this adventure worry-free.
Important Documents & Money
- Passport – Always use the same passport you booked with, even if it has expired.
- Cash – Bring cash in Peruvian Soles or US Dollars.
Backpack & Water
- Daypack – Maximum 30 liters, available for rent from us.
- Water bottle or hydration system – Essential to stay hydrated during your trek.
Sun & Insect Protection
- DEET – Insect repellent with at least 40% active ingredient.
- Sunscreen – SPF 30 or higher.
- Hat or cap – To protect from the strong sun.
- Sunglasses – For optimal eye protection.
Clothing & Footwear
- Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots – Essential for safety and comfort. Check our blog for tips on the best hiking shoes.
- Rain jacket or sturdy poncho – Avoid thin plastic ponchos.
- Clothing – Convertible pants or running pants (1), t-shirts (max 2), warm vest or fleece, long sleeve shirt (1). Don’t forget hiking socks, underwear, and toothbrush.
- Swimwear – Only needed if you plan to visit hot springs.
Extra Essentials
- Small first aid kit – For minor accidents.
- Camera or smartphone – Capture your adventure!
- Muesli bars or snacks – For extra energy on the trail.
- Moist toilet paper – Handy during the trek.
- Optional: Walking sticks – available for rent from us.
