Program: Pilgrimage to Choquequirao

Day 1 – The Call of the Path

“You can never escape from your heart. So it is better to listen to what it has to tell you.” — Paulo Coelho

Today our journey to Choquequirao begins. As we leave behind the bustle of Cusco and descend into the dramatic Apurímac Canyon, we are not only taking steps through the landscape, but also inward. This is a day of letting go, slowing down, and listening to the call of your own path.

Surrounded by the majestic Andes, we are introduced to the ancient Inca worldview of the connection between humans, nature, and the cosmos. Each step brings us closer to the hidden city—and to ourselves.

  • Introduction to Inca Cosmology
    • Hanan Pacha (upper world)
    • Kay Pacha (present world)
    • Ukhu Pacha (inner world)
  • Silent walk during the descent
  • Sunset ritual at camp

Day 2 – Descent and Rebirth

“If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.” — Paulo Coelho

Today we descend to the powerful waters of the Apurímac River and begin the challenging ascent toward Marampata. In the Andes, every descent symbolizes releasing what no longer serves you, while each climb invites you to move forward with greater awareness and trust.

Along the way, we experience the immense silence of the canyon and are invited to reflect on what we wish to let go of, and what we want to welcome into our lives. Nature becomes our mirror: the river reminds us of the constant flow of life, while the mountains teach us about strength, patience, and surrender.

Program:

  • Silent uphill hike
  • Full Moon meditation under the stars at the evening camp

Day 3 – Encounter with the Hidden City

“The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight.” — Paulo Coelho

Today we reach the highlight of our pilgrimage: Choquequirao, the hidden city of the Incas. After days of effort, silence, and reflection, a place long concealed among the mountains slowly reveals itself. Arrival here is not only a physical destination, but also a moment of deep awareness.

In Andean tradition, it is said that the greatest lessons are not found by seeking, but by being fully present. As we walk through the ancient terraces, temples, and plazas, we take time to feel the energy of this extraordinary site. Surrounded by the Apus and the silence of the mountains, space opens for wonder, connection, and a deeper understanding of our own life journey.

Program:

  • Visit to the ceremonial plazas and terraces of Choquequirao
  • Gratitude ritual for Pachamama
  • Sunset ceremony
  • Overnight stay near the magical Choquequirao

Day 4 – The Wisdom of Silence

“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” — Paulo Coelho

Today we take the time to truly experience Choquequirao. Without hurry, we deepen our connection with the unique energy of this hidden place and reflect on the insights that have emerged during the journey. While the first days focused on release and transformation, this day invites integration: what do you wish to take home with you, and what new direction is unfolding?

Surrounded by the majestic Andes and the ancient Inca stones, space opens for silence, reflection, and gratitude. In Andean wisdom, true understanding is not something that is collected, but something that is remembered. By being fully present in the moment, we reconnect with our inner nature.

Program:

  • Sunrise ritual at Choquequirao
  • Visit to the famous llama terraces
  • Deepening into Inca cosmology and Andean wisdom
  • Silent walk through the archaeological site

Day 5 – The Return Home

“The journey never ends. Only the travelers end.” — Paulo Coelho

Today we begin our return through the Andes. The paths are the same, but the one walking them has changed. After days of silence, effort, wonder, and reflection, we say goodbye to Choquequirao and slowly make our way back to everyday life.

In many spiritual traditions, the return is an essential part of the journey. Not what you have seen along the way, but what you carry home with you determines the true value of the experience. As the sacred mountains slowly fade behind us, we take a moment to reflect on the path we have walked. With gratitude for the lessons, encounters, and the strength of the Andes, we conclude this remarkable pilgrimage.

Program:

  • Walking meditation during the return journey
  • Farewell ritual for Pachamama and the Apus
